僧侶が合同労組に駆け込み
何となんと、驚く無かれ・・。こんな事がと思うが、今の世は何があってもおかしくないのか・・。
何と真宗大谷派の本山、東本願寺の僧侶2人が、今はやりの未払い残業代を要求して、新左翼系の合同労組(きょうとユニオン)に駆け込み、きょうとユニオンの強力なバックアップを得て、東本願寺に、未払い残業代の請求を訴え団体交渉を要求。
当然、東本願寺はこれを拒否。「僧侶というのは出家(世俗の生活を捨てた)した人だから、雑務は修行であって仕事ではない。従って本来給料はでない、よって、未払い残業代などはもっての他」と主張。
ところが、きょうとユニオン側は、残業代は正規雇用の僧侶は勿論、非正規雇用の僧侶でも、労働基準法に基づき残業代は支払わなければならないと主張。
よって話し合いはかみ合わず、きょうとユニオンは、京都労働基準監督署に「是正勧告」を申し立てるに至った。
そこで、東本願寺も団交に応じざるを得なくなり、話し合いの結果、何と僧侶2人の残業代、665万円を支払うことになったという。

Two monks from Higashi Hongwanji, the head temple of Shinshu Otani sect, rushed to the new left-wing joint labor union (Kyouto Union) to demand unpaid overtime pay, which is now commonplace, and with the strong backing of Kyouto Union, demanded collective bargaining from Higashi Hongwanji to demand unpaid overtime pay.
Naturally, Higashi Honganji refused to do so. A monk is an ordained person who has renounced the worldly life, so drudgery is a practice, not a job. He claimed that he would not receive his salary; therefore, he would not receive any unpaid overtime pay.
However, the Kyōdō and Union side argued that overtime pay must be paid under the Labor Standards Law, not only for regularly employed monks, but also for non-regularly employed monks.
As a result of the disagreements, Kyo and the union decided to file a “recommendation for correction” with the Kyoto Labor Standards Inspection Office.
Therefore, Higashi Hongwanji was forced to agree to a collective bargaining session, and as a result of discussions, the two monks were to be paid 6.65 million yen for their overtime work.
