Last week, I visited the site of my honeymoon and enjoyed a trip to Hokkaido (Donan) with my wife for the first time in thirty-three years.
My overall impression is that it hasn’t changed much. The only thing that has changed is the two of them traveling…
The course is exactly the same as it was 33 years ago. Rent a car at Hakodate Airport, Hakodate→Onuma→Toya Lake→Toyoichi→Otaru→Sapporo→Osaka
Prior to the monastery.
Next, we were greeted by a monkey. The monkey garden is attached to the side of the tropical botanical garden. I hear that the monkeys here are very much into hot springs.
When you think of Kankan, you think of Goryokaku.

It’s a different season in Hokkaido. The roses are in full bloom.
On the second day, we went to Matsumae Castle.

The road is paved with wood chips. I was a little impressed with the softness of the step.
The streets of Matsumae. This is a part of the town that was built for sightseeing.
The second day was spent at the Onuma Prince Hotel. The next day we walked around Lake Onuma, but for some reason I only took this one photo. The lotus fills the swamp.
The third day after that was Toya Lake. You can see Lake Toya from the hotel window.
Lake Toya seen from the Silo Observatory.
On the fourth day, we went to Sapporo via Yoichi. On the way, we passed the famous village of Makari. The trophy and stage clothes of “Takashi Hosokawa” are displayed in the shop.
Nikka whisky factory in Massan’s village, Yoichi. Admission is free and you can enjoy a good tasting…
The fifth and final day was spent at the old Hokkaido Town Hall.
When I got home, there was a large amount of cucumbers in the home garden.
