月下美人
やっと、月下美人が咲いた！！。
妻が友達に分けて貰った月下美人、我が家に来て早や１０年になる。だが、葉状茎の丈が伸びるだけで、花を咲かせようとの意思なし。鑑賞にたえるほどの葉状茎でもなく、背丈は1mを越え、小生にとっては全くの邪魔者であった。
妻は、友達からもらったと云う事もあって、結構大事に育てていた。ところが、過保護に過ぎた嫌いがあり、花を咲かせずとても捨てられはせず・・・サボテンは楽を決め込んでか、蕾みさえ着けようとしなかった。
ところが、さすがに１０年ともなると、これでは・・と深く反省したのか、今年は７月頃にその兆候を見せ、９月半ばには素人目にも判る程に蕾も膨らみ、９月２３日、秋分の日の夕刻、やっと咲き始めた。
９月２３日 １６時３１分。
９月２３日 １９時４６分 ついに開花
外では可愛そう、と思い、リビングへ移動。部屋は月下美人の香りに包まれる・・・。
翌９月２４日 ２０時１８分、会社から帰ると、昨日開花した隣に待機していた蕾が、香りと共に首を垂れた７分咲き状態にて待っていてくれた。
ところが、開花する前に小生がダウン。翌朝起きてみると、みるも哀れな姿になっていた。写真を撮るのはしのびず・・・・。月下美人って本当に一夜だけの花なんだ・・・・。
Finally, the moonlight beauty has bloomed!
It’s been ten years since my wife came to our house with the moonlight beauty that her friend gave her. But the foliar stems only grew in height, without any intention of flowering. The leafy stems were not worthy of appreciation, and the height was over 1m, so it was a nuisance to me.
My wife took great care of them, partly because they were given to her by her friends. However, due to an overprotective dislike, the cactus didn’t bloom and was never discarded… The cactus was so determined to be easy, it didn’t even try to put on the buds.
In the middle of September, the buds swelled up so much that even the layman’s eyes could see them. Then, on September 23, the evening of the autumnal equinox, they finally started to bloom.
