結納の儀
結納の儀がしめやかに執り行われた。何処の誰が？とお思いでしょうか・・・。
何を隠そう、実は我が家のこと。当人の娘は、成人式以来の振袖姿。満面の笑みで近い将来、夫に成るであろうお方と、ご両親をお迎えし、結納の儀が執り行われた。
誰が見ている訳でも無く、当人同士と両親のみの略式であったが、それでも緊張するものなんだな・・・。でも、心地よい緊張と云うか、儀式は儀式として、それなりに意義深く、感慨深いものがあった。
結婚式となると、娘の父親としては、それなりに複雑な思いも有るであろうが、結納は未だ、ただただ目出度いだけ！、そんな感じで、昨日は非常に幸せな一日であった。
また、今日の夜は船場ロータリーのクリスマス例会。家族同伴で手作りのクリスマスを皆で楽しもうと云うのである。その中でチャリティーバザーを行い、その売上金を奉仕に使う事にしている。
で、明日・明後日と東京出張。２日とも会議は名目で夜の忘年会がメインとなり、以後、毎年の事ながら１２月３０日まで２日と空く事無く忘年会のオンパレードとなる。
還暦以後毎年一才づつ若くなっており、この１２月で５５歳を迎える小生であるが、０歳まで後５５年、よほど身体と心に気をつけないと・・・と一杯飲んでは反省する日々が続くこととなる。

What’s there to hide? It’s actually my house. Her daughter is wearing furisode (long-sleeved kimono) for the first time since the coming-of-age ceremony. With a big smile on their faces, they welcomed their parents and their soon-to-be husbands, and the wedding ceremony was held.
There was no one watching, it was just the two of us and our parents, but it was still a nerve-wracking experience… However, it was a pleasant tension, or rather, the ritual was meaningful and moving in its own way as a ritual.
When it comes to weddings, as the father of a daughter, I’m sure he has his own complicated feelings, but the engagement ceremony is still just a nice touch! So, yesterday was a very happy day.
Also, this evening is Funaba Rotary’s Christmas meeting. It’s time for everyone to enjoy a homemade Christmas with their families. We will hold a charity bazaar and use the proceeds for the service.
So I’m on a business trip to Tokyo tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and on both days, the main event is a year-end party in the evening in the name of the conference, and from then on, as is the case every year until December 30th, there will be two days of year-end parties without any openings.
I have been getting a year younger every year since my 60th birthday, and I will turn 55 years old this December.
