小父さんの話
今週のはじめ、某小父さんが突然会社に来た。１階の受付?から事務員に連絡したらしく、私にメモがまわって来た、
「八尾のおっちゃん、とおっしゃる方が１階にお見えですが・・・」とある。なに・・「直ぐにお通しして・・！！」。
少し疲れ気味のチョッキによれよれの帽子を被り、ニヤッと独特の笑みを浮かべて入ってきた。応接に腰をかけるやいなやタバコを口にくわえる・
・・、ムム・・私の部屋は禁煙・・、所が全く意に介している様子がない。人生の大先輩、おん歳８０才である。禁煙など通用するはずが無い、
直ぐに炊事場から灰皿を持って来た。タバコは昔ながらのピースである。
実はこの小父さん、そこそこのお金持ちでゆったりとした暮らし向きの人である。ところが、お金を使うのは嫌いなほう・・、
それも可也徹底している。普通の人は「高価な物を自慢する」が、小父さんは「如何に安く買ったかを自慢する」、
とにかく物を安く買うのが大好きである。一般に云うダダのケチとは違い、お金は使う時は使う、無駄使いもする。
所が他と比較検討して安くなければ絶対にダメ、「松谷さんこれどや・・、君にと思ってこうてきたのだが・・」、今までにシャツやジャンバー、
ネクタイなど色々と頂いたが、１着百円のものは珍しい、たいがいは五十円で仕入れたものである。
で、今回も同様。「松谷さん、これ面白いで・・、５冊の単行本をさしだす」、それも相当の古本、表紙は勿論中も色あせ赤茶けており、
少し目が弱くなった小生に取ってはチョット辛い本である。多分間違いなく１０円で仕入れた本である。「何時もすみません・・
有り難うございます」、深々と頭を下げ、５冊の本を押戴いた、トホホ・・・。
小父さんは中国語が好きで、今も中国語の学校に週一で通っている。８０歳になっても向学心は全く衰えていない、
漢字一つに大変な興味を示す、従って、エッと思うような話がちょくちょく聞ける。普通の人と少し違っているが、
それ故に独特の味があり面白い。「松谷さん・・、
この陳舜臣の中国任侠伝、これは面白い・・日本の講談やな・・
これは・・」。そこで薦められるままに早速読んでみた、確かに物語は講談調で文の切れも良く面白い。その一節に、
一寸興味深い内容の話があったので紹介したいと思う・・。
ところが、時間がない・・。次の用事があるので、内容の紹介は次回にゆずらしてもらう事にする。あしからず・・・。

It’s also pretty thorough. Most people brag about their expensive things, but my dad brags about how cheap he bought them.
Anyway, I love to buy things cheap. Unlike the stingy, stingy people, they spend money when they can, and waste it when they can.
It’s a great way to get a better idea of what’s going on in your life.
They gave me a variety of ties and other things, but the ones that cost 100 yen each were rare, and most of them were bought for 50 yen.

It’s a bit of a painful book for me because my eyes have become a bit weak. It’s a book that I probably bought for 10 yen. I’m so sorry…
Thank you very much,” he bowed his head deeply and gave me five books, tho-ho…
He is 80 years old, but his enthusiasm for learning hasn’t diminished at all.
He shows a great interest in a single kanji character, so he can often listen to stories that make you feel bad. It’s a little different than most people, though.
