今年のゴールデンウイークは飛び石とは言いながら流石に長い。ところが私は以前から休みの計画は殆ど立てた事がない。
何故か祭日が眼中になく、その週になって気づくことが多い。若いころに勤めていた会社が６:１勤務と言って、
祭日など全く関係なく６日出勤して１日休むハードな会社であったためかもしれない。そんなことで、
今年は思い立って１泊２プレーのゴルフを楽しんだのみで、後は老朽化した我が家の屋根の修理と読書と囲碁でのんびりと優雅な連休を楽しんだ・
・。ただ家族は多分不満に思っているのでは・・。

それにしてもJR西日本の事故はひどい。報道されている通りの無謀運転による事故であれば余りにも情けない。
会社の安全管理に対する姿勢にマスコミは批判を集中させているが、確かにJRの安全管理に問題はあると思うが、
その以前に運転手の適正能力が一番の問題のように思う。運転手への登用試験がどんなものか判らないが、ある意味私生活も含め、その適正
（性格素行を含む）を定期的にチエックする必要があるのでは。多数の人の命を預かる運転という仕事に従事する人は、
多くの人の人権を護るために自らの人権、プライバシーはある程度犠牲になっても仕方ないと考える。だって、
人権の最たるものは人の命なのだから。

昔は、「武士の情け」というのがあったものだが、最近のマスコミは、これでもかこれでもか・・と情け容赦なく叩く。
今報道されている各種不祥事は、ある意味叩かれて当然とは思うが、それにしてもと思ってしまうのは私だけでしょうか・・・。

The golden week is long, though it is a stepping stone. However, I’ve never really planned my holidays before.

Nevertheless, the accident at JR West was terrible. If the accident was caused by reckless driving as reported, it is too shameful.
While the media has focused its criticism on the company’s stance on safety management, there are certainly problems with JR’s safety management.
It seems to me that the biggest issue before that is the proper ability of the driver. I don’t know what the test for promotion to the driver’s position is like, but in a way, it’s appropriate to include personal life.

The various scandals that are now being reported in the news are, in a sense, deserved to be slapped, but am I the only one who can’t help but wonder…
