不況を改めて実感。

我が調査業界は未曾有の大不況。中でも大衆調査を主としているところが酷いようだ。
弊社の場合は、企業が主なクライアントで、採用調査（人事調査）
や信用調査をメインに営業しているが、
不特定多数の顧客を対象に、広告媒体を使って営業しているる、所謂、探偵業を主にしているところの落ち込みは酷いらしい。

この現象は何を意味するか？。要因は幾つも考えられるが、一番大きな要因は、依頼事項が無いのではなく、
依頼したくても肝心の先立つものが無い、と云う事らしい。それくらい多くの小市民の懐具合は厳しくなっていると云うことか。

こんな不況下で弊社は社員募集を実施。「失業率の高さを嘆き、少しでも社会貢献ができたら・・・」
との思いからの社長英断、とここで一席ぶちたいところだが、そんな事はまさかのまさか。実は、調査には直接関係の無い分野で、
人手が要ることがあり、その為の社員募集である。

そこで先般、管轄のハローワークに出向き、求人資料を提出。職種は一般事務の正社員採用。条件は一般中小企業並みで、
決して好条件と云う訳ではない。それでも以前から一般事務職は営業に比較して求人し易く、人気職種であり、応募はそこそこはあるだろう、
と考えていた。「まあー１週間もま募集しておけば１０人位は応募があるだろうから、その中で書類選考し、４・５人位面接して決めよう」
くらいに考えていた。

ハローワークに出向いたのが３時過ぎ、４時には手続きを済ませ帰社。ハローワークには翌日からの求人をお願いしていた。

すると、翌朝９時から電話は鳴りっぱなし。大半がハローワークから、
何と午前中のみで５０名からの求職者があり、あわてて募集を締め切った。

いったいこれは何だ・・・、ただただ驚くばかり。

過去何回かこうした募集はしてきたが、１週間で１０名くらいの求職者が集まれば良いほうであったが、何と僅か半日で５０名、
このままほっていたら何百人応募があったか判らないと云った状況である。

ありがたい悲鳴というか・・・正直書類選考だけでも大変。面接も応募者に合わせて相応にはしなければならず、「紺屋の白袴」
にならぬよう選考にはねんにはねんを入れなければ成らないし、それこそ大変であった。

それにしても、それにしてもである。今回の募集騒ぎで改めて今の不況を思い知らされた。よほど褌を締めて仕事に望ばねば・・・・。

とにかく頑張って１つ勝て。

What in the world is this…I’m just amazed.

In the past, we have done this kind of recruitment several times, but it would have been better if we could get about 10 job seekers in a week, but we had 50 job seekers in just half a day.

今年のゴールデンウィークは、２９日から５日まで８連休と言う会社が多かったのでは・・・。でも、弊社は所謂暦通り・・・
零細企業の悲しさと云うか、零細企業の特権と云うか？。今こんな事を書き出していてフッと思い出した。小生が厚顔（紅顔）
の美青年であった３０代前半の起業間もない頃、実は日祭日が恨めしかった。何故って・・・？、
だって日祭日になると会社を休みにしなければならない、休むと仕事は入らない、ところが家賃も給料も月単位で発生する。
故に休日が多いとその分マイナスが膨らむ。そんな世知辛い姑息な思いと、今ひとつは仕事が楽しくて仕方無かったことに起因する。
当時は幾ら忙しくても全く気にならず、休みが重なると何となく損をしたような気になったものだ。

こんな思い出は、起業家の誰しもが共通に持っているのでは・・・。金も力も閑も何も無かった、
でも気力だけはとてつもなく充実していた。フッとそんな昔を想いだした。

で、今年のゴールデンウィークはと云うと、ほぼ何もせずゴルフと映画と畑仕事（庭に造った一坪農園）で終わった。
それでもアッという間に終わった。最近は会社に居ると一日がとてつもなく長く感じるが休みは直ぐに終わる。いったいこの感覚は何なのか・・・
、ぼちぼち引退しては？　と神が囁いているのかも・・・。

６０歳定年とは良くしたもので、知力、気力、体力、精力ともに５０歳代とは可也違ってくる。

で、フッと今また思い出した。丁度私が結婚した年に義父が６０歳の定年を迎えた。義父曰く「これから私は金を稼ぐ事は一切しない・・
・、今自分に出来る事は後輩に道を譲り、仕事を与えることだ・・・、それが自分の仕事だと・・・」。その言葉通り、
定年後は一切の仕事を離れ、「五族の墓奉賛会」（満州国軍の墓）
の世話役と中国残留孤児に関係するボランティア的なことをする以外は囲碁と孫の遊び相手でノンビリとした余生を過しておられた。

何でこんな事を書き出したのかな、もしかしたら今日の天候（雨）のせいかも・・・。

Hence, if you have a lot of holidays, the negative will be inflated by that. The first was because I was enjoying my work and the second was because I had no choice but to do it.
In those days, I didn’t care how busy I was, and I felt like I was losing money when I had a series of holidays.

I think all entrepreneurs have these memories in common. There was no money, no power, no vacancy, no nothing.
But I had a tremendous amount of energy. I was reminded of such a long time ago.

As for this year’s Golden Week, I didn’t do anything but play golf, go to the movies, and work in the field (the 1.3 square meter farm I built in the garden).
Still, it was over in a flash. These days, when I’m in the office, the day feels very long, but the holidays are over very soon. I don’t know what the hell this feels like.
Why don’t you just retire?　Maybe God is whispering to you…

The retirement age of 60 is a good thing, because it is much different from the age of 50 in terms of intelligence, energy, physical strength, and vigor.

And now I remember again. The year I got married, my father-in-law reached the retirement age of 60. My father-in-law said, “From now on, I’m not going to make any money…
The only thing I can do now is to give way to my juniors and give them a job…that’s my job… As they say.

今週月曜から水曜の３日間、日経夕刊で郷土力士「隠岐の海　歩」の特集記事が載っている。
中でも昨日の隠岐の紹介は良かった、今日の夕刊が楽しみでーす。一読あらんことを・・・。

で、ついでと云う訳ではないが、昨日の日経夕刊コラム「あすへの話題」蘭に御茶ノ水女子大の外山名誉教授が「転がる石」と題した、
こんな記事が載っていた。

「”転がる石は苔をつけない”ということわざがある。”転石苔を生ぜず”
の方が良く知られている。いずれにしてもイギリスのことわざの訳である。住まいや職を転々変える人間は成功しない、の意で、
カネがたまらないと解する向きがある。アメリカではこれが逆の意味でつかわれ、有能、活動的な人はつねに新鮮だというのである。
同じ諺でも國や環境によって全く逆の意味に解され、それにきずいた日本の学者が、英和辞書に、このイギリス、
アメリカ両方の意味を併記して注目された。」、とのことを紹介し、
以下いろいろと先生の感じたところのものを書いておられるが、これを読んで私も一言云いたくなった。

私は仕事柄、一日何通もの履歴書を読み、その履歴書を元に申告内容が正しいのか否か、職務経歴記載事項が正しいか否か、また、
前職での勤怠、退職理由、人間関係などを調べ、そして必要に応じては生活態度や素行関係を調べ、又その調査報告書に目を通している。
しかもそんな仕事を４０年の長きに亘って続けている。従って、自慢ではないが履歴書を読むと大方のことは判る。

　そこで一言、「転石苔を生ぜず」
はイギリスの解釈が真理だと（日本人にはピッタリだと）。

日本の年功序列制は崩れ、２０年ほど前には転職の時代とはやされ、何時の間にか転職も離婚も何ら恥ずべきことでなく、
寧ろキャリアとして誇る人さえ出てきている。ところが毎日何通もの履歴書とその人の生活を見させて貰っている私が強く実感するのは、
「石の上にも３年」で

この日曜日、日本海に浮かぶ孤島、隠岐ノ島を郷里とする関西在住者の親睦会、関西隠岐人会の第７回総会が開催された。

小生、昨年４月よりこの関西隠岐人会の会長を仰せつかっており、何かとプレッシャーはあったが、
各出身地区の幹事さんのお陰で３００人近い同郷の士が集まり、盛会裡の中、とても楽しいひと時を過す事が出来た。

当日は朝９時に各地区の世話役の方に集まって頂き、会場の設営、スケジュールの打ち合わせなど何かと準備に追われたが、
実はここに漕ぎ着けるまでの事務局の大変さ・・・、実に頭が下がる思いである。オールボランティアで、来賓招待から会員への呼びかけ、
会場や出演の打ち合わせ等など数え上げたら切りが無いほど細々とした作業がある。その点会長と言うのは気楽なもの、
事務局の言う通りにウンウンと云っておれば何とか恰好がつく。特に今度の隠岐人会では、その事を痛感させられ、只ただ感謝の一日であった。

今日こうして気儘にブログを書いていても、事務局長からチョコチョコと電話が入る。
終われば終わったで後の整理も１日２日では済まない様である。しかし、愚痴一つ口にせず黙々とその作業をこなしてくれている。
世の中持ちつもたれつとは言うが、もたれる方はいいが持つほうは生半可ではない、本当に頭が下がる。

それにしてもホッとした・・・・。

隠岐民謡「きんにゃもにゃ」で盛り上がっているところ。誰がだれかサッパリ判らない様に撮るのが苦労、故にこんな写真しか・・・。
決して技量の問題では無い・・・？。

この「キンニャモニャ」は隠岐島の中ノ島（海士町）の民謡で、年に１度「キンニャモニャ祭り」
と云う一大イベントが催される程に人気のある民謡と踊りである。非常にテンポの良い賑やかな民謡で、その歌に合わせ、
しゃもじを叩きながら皆で踊るのである。隠岐の踊りは基本、生活に根ざしたもので小道具はタオル、鍋ぶた、お皿、
しゃもじ等調理場にある手みじかなものばかり。これは、娯楽の少なかった昔、
何かと理由をつけて村の男集が一軒の家に集まり酒宴を開くのが何よりの楽しみであった頃の名残のようだ。男集は車座になり飲みかつ歌う、
すると調理場に居る女子集が手許にある鍋ぶたやしゃもじ、或いはお皿を手に踊りだす、と言うものであったらしい。

隠岐人会とは全く関係ないが、またまた我が家に子狸が出没。庭に出るために置いているスリッパを片方だけ持って行ったらしい。
昨秋にもやられた・・・半年に２度は我が家の家計に取っては大変な痛手。でも、何となく楽しくなってくる・・・。

The seventh general meeting of the Kansai Okijin Association, a friendship group of people living in the Kansai region who call Oki-no-jima, an isolated island in the Sea of Japan, their hometown, was held on Sunday, November 8, 2010.

I have been the president of this Kansai Okijin Association since April last year, and I have been under a lot of pressure.
Thanks to the organizers of each hometown, nearly 300 people from the same hometown gathered, and we were able to spend a very pleasant time in a grand ceremony.

On the day of the event, the caretakers from each district gathered at 9:00 a.m., and we were busy preparing the venue and meeting the schedule.

There is a lot of work to be done at the venue, meetings for appearances, etc. In that respect, it’s easy to be the chairman.
I just have to do what the secretariat says, and then I can make myself look good. Especially at the next Oki meeting, I was made to feel this keenly, and it was just a day of gratitude.

Even though I am writing this blog as I like today, I get a phone call from the secretary-general.
Once it’s done, it doesn’t seem to take more than a day or two to sort it out. However, he does not complain a single word and does his work silently.
The world says that it’s better to lean on it, but it’s better to lean on it, but it’s not half-hearted to hold it.

I’m relieved though…..

４月に入るや、春が一挙にやって来た。先週末は最高の春日和、何所とも桜の下は人とダンゴで超満員であったのでは・・・。

小生、週末は映画と決めていたが流石に屋内と言う気になれず、妻を誘って私市の植物園http://www.sci.osaka-cu.ac.jp/biol/botan/、
その後、奈良の松伯美術館http://www.kintetsu.jp/shohaku/index.htmlへと足をのばした。
植物園は、春の息吹で一杯、爽やか な気が充満している感じで、非常に気持ちが良かった。さらに、松伯美術館は素晴らしかった。

至るところに山つつじが咲き誇っていた

As soon as we entered April, spring came at once. Last weekend was a perfect spring day, and everywhere was packed with people and danglers under the cherry blossoms….

I had planned to go to the movies on the weekend, but I couldn’t bring myself to go indoors, so I took my wife to the Botanical Gardens in my city, http://www.sci.osaka-cu.ac.jp/biol/botan/.
Afterwards, the Shouhaku Museum of Art in Nara http://www.kintetsu.jp/shohaku/index.htmlへと足をのばした.
The arboretum was filled with the breath of spring, and it was a very pleasant feeling. What’s more, the Shohaku Art Museum was amazing.

Mountain azaleas were in full bloom everywhere.
