老人ホームに入ってる父に本を２冊持って行きました。
私は推理小説（ミステリー？）を読まないので選ぶのにだいぶ迷いましたが、「火車」と「小さな異邦人」に決定。
喋ることが難しい状態なのでほとんど会話ができず、手も思うように動かせないので筆談も一方通行でしたが、喜んでいた気がします。

父がだんだん赤ちゃんに戻っていくような姿を見ると悲しいですが、たまに見せてくれる笑顔は父親の顔。

言葉はなくても伝わってるのがよくわかります。

I took a couple of books to my father who is in a nursing home.
I’m a speculative fiction (mystery?) I didn’t know which one to choose because I don’t read “The Fire Truck” and “The Little Gentile”, but I decided on “The Fire Truck” and “The Little Gentile”.
He could hardly speak, and his hands could not move as he wanted, so he could only talk by writing…but I think he was happy.

It makes me sad to see my father gradually becoming a baby again, but the smile that he sometimes shows me is my father’s face.

I can see how it comes across even without words.
